Topic: Building Multilingual Web Sites with MOSS WCM

This presentation is intended to cover an overview of MOSS 2007 Web Content Management (WCM) features, specifically in scenarios where content is required to be managed across different languages.  An overview will be provided on the evolution of WCM in MOSS 2007 including topics such as content publishing, workflow, content types, and developing custom page layouts.  Additionally, the presentation will cover an overview and walkthrough of MOSS 2007 Variation features as they relate to multilingual WCM deployments and guidelines for planning such deployments.  Feature walkthroughs will focus on what functionality comes out of the box and where additional customizations may be required.  Customizations walkthroughs will be performed using Microsoft SharePoint Designer.

Chris Smith

Mr. Smith is a Senior Solution Architect in the Avanade Technology Services (ATS) organization and currently serves as both the Location Lead and Applications & Integration Capability Director for both the San Antonio and Houston areas.   Mr. Smith has been in the IT services industry for over 14 years and was one of the first Microsoft Certified Solution Developers for .NET.  He has over 6 years of experience specifically relating to Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies involving a broad set of activities including Strategic Planning, Analysis, Design, and Development of Enterprise Portals, WCM, ECM, and Knowledge Management solutions on the Microsoft stack.  His experience has led to successful SharePoint implementations at multiple customers including some of the largest Financial and Retail companies in the world.
